AMT Auto Movie Thumbnailer

AMT Auto-Movie-Thumbnailer can process a single movie and it can also batch process movies. It must be mentioned here that AVI, MPG, Quicktime, and other video formats are supported. By processing movies, it can create screencaps, thumbnail index pictures, preview pictures, or contact sheets. You can go with the default layout or you can customize the layout to best suit your needs.

A setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. Said wizard will install the main program files and the following AMT binaries: MPlayer, MediaInfo, ImageMagick, and SQLite. The wizard will also perform the following extra tasks: create AMT shortcuts on the desktop and Start Menu, place a shortcut in the Startup folder so that AMT will automatically run at startup.

Five buttons are presented in the upper left hand side on AMT’s interface: Input, Progress, Layout, Settings, and About. Use the first 4 to navigate AMT’s interface, to play with the settings, and to access the functionality this application has to offer.

Speaking about functionality, here’s a quick look at AMT’s main features: process a single video file or batch process video files; process files manually or based on a schedule; pick the output directory, choose how the output file will be named, specify what happens if the output filename exists; customize the layout; pick a processing mode (screencaps only, individual frames only, screencaps and individual frames); play with multiple settings.
